Mr. Fred Fugate, Sr.

Mr. Fred Fugate, Sr, 3949 Thornton Drive, Kingsport, TN departed this life on Tuesday, October 6, 2015 at Church Hill Rehab Center after a long illness.

He was preceded in death by a son, Howard L. Fugate and wife Cynthia, his parents Fred Sr. and Louise Fugate of Rogersville, TN, a brother Charles Fugate and sisters Ms. Shirley Hoyle and Ethel Finley.

Fred graduated from Swift High School and Steed Jr. College.  He served in the U.S. Army for 22 years and retired from Eastman Kodak.

Mr. Fugate is survived by his wife Ms. Betty Fugate, sons Fred III (Beady) of Montgomery AL., Anthony of Kingsport, TN and Steven (Anna Marie) of Morristown, TN, sisters nancy (Don) Simonton of Rogersville, TN, Anita Spears of Dayton, OH, brothers Thomas (Jennie) Fugate of Dayton, OH, 11 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, please make contributions to the Bethel AME Zion Church building fund.

Friends may call upon the family any time at 3949 Thornton Drive, Kingsport, TN.  Graveside services will be held Tuesday, October 13, 2015 at the VA National Cemetery, Mountain Home, TN at 2:30 PM.  The cortege will depart the funeral home at 1:30 PM.

Ms. Wanda Daniels

  Ms. Wanda Daniels departed this life Monday October 5, 2015 at Johnson City Medical Center Johnson City, TN after a brief illness.

Funeral services will be conducted Friday, October 9th at 12 Noon at the Full Gospel Mission Church, 740 East Sevier Avenue, Kingsport, TN.  Pastor Mrs. Valerie Rogers, Pastor Mrs. Geraldine Swagerty officiating.  The family will receive friends at 11:00 AM until the hour of service.

Interment will follow at the VA National Cemetery, Mountain Home, TN.

He was a member of Shiloh Baptist Church and employed at Chop House Restaurant.

Jeremy Lynn Stevens

 (Johnson City, TN)


Jeremy Lynn Stevens, an endearing friend to all who knew him, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, September 22, 2015. He was 35.

Jeremy, of 206 W Chilhowie Johnson City, TN was born January 16, 1980, to parents Debra Darlene Mathes Crum and Jerry Lynn Stevens, both also of Johnson City TN. He was a graduate of Science Hill High School, where he worked closely & passionately thru the years with the basketball and football programs.

He was a dedicated employee of Daniel Boone High School Janitorial Services as well as The City of Johnson City Carver Recreation Center, where he had also spent many cherished days growing up and making an impact on the community and everyone that crossed his path.

Jeremy, gentle, gracious, and thorough in all aspects of his life, leaves behind many loved ones to honor that memory, in addition to his parents; his sisters, Michele Mason, Chasaty Greenlee, Shereece Buford, Shamus Stevens, Essence Love, Nyrashia Love, Anashia Love, all of Johnson City, TN; Angel (Terrance) Turner of Elizabethton, TN; Kendra (Derek) Scruggs of Lawrenceville, GA; Tasha Greenlee of Atlanta, GA; his brothers, Scotty (Susan) Fain, Todd Conley, Orville Buford of Johnson City, TN; David Fair of Clifton, TN; Keyon Crum of Spartanburg, SC. God Parents, Clarence & Margaret Easterly. A very special dear nephew Michaeus Rowe; An abundance of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and great- nieces, as well as a pivotal mentor, role model and father figure, Kenneth “Herb” Greenlee.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Jacquetta & Luther Mathes, fraternal grandparents Clyde & Jennie Mae Stevens, Uncles Melvin Stevens & Michael Fields, Aunts Arletha “Argo” Adams & Pam McKinney.

The family sincerely thanks everyone wholeheartedly, that has been touched by Jeremy’s selflessness, friendship, and genuine interaction.  A special thanks to Carver Recreation Center, Daniel Boone & Science Hill High School (faculty, staff, & students), Jims Motorcycle, Select Seven Credit Union, City of Johnson City, and Capone’s.

Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 3, 2015, at Friendship Baptist Church in Johnson City.

The family will receive friends from 12:00 p.m. - 1:00 p.m. prior to the services.
