Robert L. Reeves, 63, of Big Stone Gap,VA passed away on Thursday, July 14, 2016 at Bristol Regional Medical Center in Bristol, TN.
He was born in Alabama and was a lifelong resident of Big Stone Gap. He worked for the English Construction Company. He was a member of the Bethesda Church of God in Big Stone Gap.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Anderson Reeves, Sr. and Celestine (Miller) Lewis; one brother, Anderson Reeves, Jr.; and two sisters, Martina Reeves and Shirley Daniels.
Surviving are his son, C. J. “Punkin” Pearson and his wife, Amanda, and their daughter, Nevaeh of Big Stone Gap; one daughter, Angel Sturgill of Ohio; four brothers, Johnny Lewis of Kingsport, TN, Spencer Reeves of Talladega, AL, Macky Lewis of San Rafael, CA and Randy Reeves of Texas; three sisters, Teresa Platt of Antioch, CA, Anna Marie Shelton of Appalachia, VA and Casaundra Reeves of Talladega, AL; several nieces and nephews; and a special sister-cousin, Miranda DeBoard and husband, Rickie of Big Stone Gap.
The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Holding Funeral Home (17 E. 3rd St., N.) in Big Stone Gap.
The funeral service will follow at 7 p.m. Wednesday in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Sandra Jones, Pastor Donnie Pickett and Pastor Barron Duffy officiating.
The committal graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday at Oakview Cemetery in Big Stone Gap. The family and friends will meet at the funeral home by 10:30 a.m. Thursday to go in procession to the cemetery.
Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.

KINGSPORT - Mr. Brown Junior Simpson, 87, 850 Dale St. Kingsport, TN. Departed this life early Friday morning, July 15, 2016 at Wellmont Holston Valley Medical Center.
A funeral service for Mr. Simpson will be conducted from A.M.E Zion Church, Friday July 22 beginning at noon. The family will receive friends from 11 am until the hour of service. Interment to follow at East Lawn Cemetery. Dr. Lester Turner will be officiating.

Jerry "Mike" Patrick, age 67, a resident of Oliver Springs, passed away, Monday, July 11, 2016 at Diversicare Nursing Home in Oak Ridge while surrounded by his family.
Mike was born January 31, 1949 in Stonega, VA. He attended the WhiteStone Church and was a member of the Native American Indian Heritage Council.
Mike loved staying busy playing tennis, softball, kayaking, exercising, riding his motorcycle but most importantly he loved his family and wrestling with his grandkids.
Mr. Patrick is preceded in death by his father, Artie Patrick.
He is survived by his wife Juanita Patrick of Oliver Springs; by his mother, Virginia Patrick of Kingsport; by his children: Damon Patrick of Knoxville, Michael Patrick and wife, Kim of Knoxville, Garry Ashley and wife, Dee Dee of Coalfield, Larry Ashley and wife Edwina of Coalfield, Anita Wright of Clarksville and Erica Walker of Oak Ridge, by cousins, Chris, Paul, David and Frank Jr. Horton. Mike was also survived by numerous grandchildren.
The family will receive friends, Friday, July 15, 2016, between the hours of 6:00 pm and 8:00 pm at Premier Sharp Funeral Home. The funeral will follow at 8:00 pm in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Don Pride and Rev. Brock Tharpe officiating.
Burial and graveside services will be held Saturday, July 16, 2016 at 10:00 am at Estes/Western Cemetery in the Coalfield Community.

Roy Lee Dennis Sr., age 78, of Rogersville, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, July 1, 2016, after a brief illness.
He was a devoted and active member of the Hasson St. Christian Church and all Brothers in Christ. He was a retiree of Holliston Mills.
He was a great son, husband, father, grandfather, uncle, mentor, and friend to many. He was a good and faithful servant who was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need.
He was preceded in death by parents, William and Ida Mae Kyle Dennis; loving wife of 40 years, Mary Cynthia Dennis; brothers, William and Albert Dennis; and a special friend, Imogene Fugate.
He is survived by daughter, Jackie (Roy) Charles of Rogersville, TN; sons, Bradford (Laura) Dennis of San Bernardino, CA and Roy (Delphine) Dennis, Jr. of Winston-Salem, NC; grandchildren, Jacque’ (Shomari) White, Tara (Chris) Watterson, Stacy Charles, Joshua Dennis, Justin Dennis, Bria Dennis and Roy Lee Dennis III; great-grandchildren, Sabry Watterson, Shomari White Jr., Jayden White, Max White, and Chris Watterson III; sisters, Betty Jean Fain, Rogersville and Nancy Clark, Fresno, CA; a host of nieces, nephews, and “adopted” sons.
