Mr. Ledford Cooke

Ledford Cooke was the spouse of Melva Hickman Cooke, a very proud Douglass alum and Ledford was well known to a number of people in Kingsport. Ms. Roselene Bond

KINGSPORT-Ms. Roselene Bond (Rose) Leona Bond, 1018 E. Sevier Avenue, departed this life Monday (March 30, 2009) and went home to be with her Lord.

She was born in Sullivan County (Horse Creek) and lived in Kingsport all of her life. She retired from ITT. She was a lifelong member of the Shiloh Baptist Church.
The family would like to thank Mountain States home Health Services and the nurses that provided care.
Ms. Bond was preceded in death by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Alfred and Virginia Bond, four brothers, Mr. Eldridge (Bud) Bond, Mr. Oscar S. Bond, Mr. Milton Bond and Mr. Matthew Bond; four sisters, Mrs.Louvenia Bond Beason, Mrs. Theresa Bond Dykes, Mrs. Olivia Bond Lockett and Mrs. Lenora Bond Bowditch.
Ms. Bond is survived by her daughter, Mrs. Chynet (Carl) Hale, Kingsport, and son Mr. Maurice (Lois) Bond, New Jersey, two brothers, Mr. Orvel (Beatrice) Bond, Kingsport and Mr. J.D. (Members) Bond, North Carolina; one sister, Mrs. Betty (Thomas) Dickens, New Jersey; two sisters-in-law, Mrs. Willie Bond, Kingsport and Mrs. Joyce Bond, Washington, D.C; one granddaughters, Ms. Kaisha Bond, Nashville; one step-granddaughter Ms. Chilae Houston, Knoxville; two grandsons, Mr. Sheldon Bond and Mr. Matthew Bond, New Jersey; and Mr. Jeronne Hale, Knoxville; and one great-granddaughter Ms. Madisvn Robinson, and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins whom she dearly loved; special friends Mrs. Kathryn (Chee Chee) White, Mrs. Dallas Watterson, Ms. Gladyes Gambrell, Mrs. Pat McClintock and Ms. Virginia Patrick and especially devoted cousins Mrs. Virginia Leeper and Mrs. Ruth Coley.
The family will receive friends from 11 AM to noon Saturday at the Shiloh Baptist Church.
Services will follow with the Rev. Dr. Kenneth Calvert officiating.
Burial will follow at the Pierce Chapel Cemetery, immediately following the services.
