Ms. Virginia “Jenny” Hankins

   KINGSPORT — Ms. Virginia “Jenny” Hankins, 63, departed this life in her home after a long battle with cancer on Monday (June 24, 2013) surrounded by family and friends.
  
After her retirement from Eastman (32 years) in 2002, Jenny became a disaster relief volunteer with the American Red Cross and an advocate for CASA for Kids. She was a dedicated member of Bethel AME Zion Church. Also, she served as president of the Douglass Alumni Association 2011-2013.

   Preceded in death by parents Lloyd “Teen” Hankins and Mrs. Emogene C. Hankins; one brother, Timothy Hankins. 


   Survived by; two daughters, Ms. Tiffany Jeneen Hankins (Burbank, Calif.) and Ms. Michelle Hankins (Kingsport); two grandchildren, Ariana Wolfe   and Caiden Norfolk; one sister, Ms. Joy Hankins (Chattanooga, Tenn.); one brother, Norman Hankins (Richmond, Va.); an aunt, an uncle, several nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

   Memorial services will be conducted Saturday at 1 p.m. from Bethel AME Zion Church with Rev. Charles Hawkins officiating. The family will receive friends from 12:30 p.m. until the hour of service.
