Roberta "Pat" McClintock

Mrs. Roberta ("Pat") McClintock, 77, departed this life to be with the Lord on Thursday (May 28, 2015), at Centennial Hospital in Nashville, Tennessee after a brief illness.

Pat was born in Rogersville, Tennessee on March 1, 1938.  She graduated from Swift High School in 1955, the year the school closed for integration.  Pat attended Livingston College in Salisbury, North Carolina.  She worked in the Kingsport city school system as a substitute teacher, and also at Holston Defense and North Electric before retiring.

Pat was preceded in death by her husband Bravell McClintock, parents Annie and Giles Watterson,  and her daughter Bravone Lee.

She is survived by her beloved children Ilesia Anderson, Giles McClintock, Will (Twinkle) McClintock, her brother Ralph Watterson and a host of great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 1 PM to 2 PM at the Central Baptist Church, 301 Carver Street. Kingsport, Tennessee.  The funeral will follow with Reverend Billy Pearson officiating.  Graveside services will be held at Zion Cemetery following the funeral service.

Beverly Jean Turner


Beverly Jean Turner, 61, of Kingsport went to be with the Lord on Saturday, May 23, 2015 at her home, following a courageous fight with many health issues.


She was born in Rutherford, North Carolina and resided in Kingsport for most of her life.  Beverly was an alumnus of Douglass School and had worked as a crossing guard and also as a fire watcher for Flour-Daniels Construction.  She was a member of Central Baptist Church and was the head of the Usher Board.  Beverly was a loving mother, grandmother, sister and aunt.  She enjoyed cooking and feeding her friends and family.

Beverly was preceded in death by her mother Rachael Callahan, father Bob Bradley, brother Raymond Bradley, and by her maternal grandmother.

Beverly is survived by two daughters, Tessa Parker and Jessica Swearingen and husband Jerry, three grandsons Casery Bradley, James Bradley and Gregory Bradley, two sisters Iris Bradley and Mia Goins, two brothers Gregory Bradley and Terry Bradley, and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

The family will receive friends on Saturday from 11 AM to 12 PM at the Central Baptist Church.  The memorial service will follow at 12 PM with Minister Perry Stuckey, Minister Lester Turner and Minister Billy Pearson officiating.

Alysia Silas


Alysia Silas, 23, of Kingsport, went to her heavenly home Friday, May 23, 2015.


She was a loving mother, daughter, granddaughter and friend to many.

Alysia was preceded in death by her grandmother Evelyn Silas, Josephine Gudger and Ben Gudger.

She is survived by her daughter Mildrea Silas of Kingsport, father Charles R. Silas III and wife Becky of Church Hill, mother Kate Silas of Kingsport, sister Kawona Shaw of Kingsport, brother Rico Shaw of Bristol, step-brother Austin Sutherland, step-sister DeAnna Sutherland, grandfather C.R. Silas of Kingsport, several nieces and nephews.

Family will receive friends on Wednesday, May 27, 2015 at the Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home, from 11 A.M. to 12 P.M, and any time at the father's home.  Funeral services will be at 12 P.M. with the Reverend Wayne Baker officiating.  The burial will follow at the Mountain View Cemetery in Bristol.

Thomas Long


CHURCH HILL — Thomas Long, 89, of Church Hill, passed away at 12:15 a.m. on Wednesday 
(May 13, 2015) at the Holston Valley Hospital and Medical Center after a lengthy illness.


He was a lifelong resident of Church Hill and was retired from the AFG Glass Plant after 25 years of service. He attended the Hope Center Church.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Maggie Long; son, William Thomas Long; daughter, Barbara Bly; and his parents, Thomas Long Sr. and Mandy Phillips Long.

Survivors include his daughters; Irene Richmond, Helen Long, Marlene Richmond and husband, Roy, Romelda Moore. Son; Danny Long and Alisa, grandchildren; Laynette Alley and husband, Reggie, Ivan Bly and wife, Edith, Randy Moore and wife, Tenille, Keith Richmond and wife, Kelly, Roy Richmond and Christina and Ryan Moore. Great-grandchildren; Prennis Alley, Karter, Karson and Kameron Richmond, Camila & Rylan Moore, Tay Shaun & Tamara Moore, Alex and Nickolas Bly and Shakira Long.

Calling hours are from 1 to 2 p.m. Friday at the Johnson-Arrowood Funeral Home and anytime at the residence. 

Funeral services will be conducted 2 p.m. Friday in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Mensor and Rev. Pearson officiating. Burial will follow in the Church Hill Memory Gardens.

Grandsons will serve as pallbearers and honorary pallbearers will be Pat Phillips, Pat Barton, Bob Meal, Bob Phillips, Kimp Brice, Joe Steele, and Owen Mallory.

The family would like to thank the staff on the 5th floor of Holston Valley. The family would also like to thank the Arthritis Association of Kingsport for the loving care for their father.
