Janie McCleskey McClintock



Janie McCleskey McClintock, 76, departed from this life on Tuesday, Aug. 26, 2014, surrounded by her love ones.

Born in Amonate, Va., to Samuel and Frances Hairston, Janie moved with her family to Kingsport, Tenn. She later moved her family to Chattanooga. Janie was a member of Shepherd Church of Christ until her health prevented her from attending.
Janie worked for Red Food Store and later retired from Bi-Lo. She also worked for the Chattanooga Police Department as a crossing guard.

Janie was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Levenus McClintock; three sons; two brothers; and one sister.

Survivors are her children, Maccine Stafford, Delois (Darrell) Ransom, Alvin Stafford, Pamela Davis and William McCleskey III; 16 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; sister, Gwendolyn Winn; ex-husband, William McCleskey, Jr.; special cousin, Constance Clark and very special friend Marian Moon.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 30, 2014, in the Chapel with Minister Richard Ervin officiating. Interment in Highland Cemetery. The body will lie in state after noon today and the family will receive friends from 78 p.m. at John P. Franklin Funeral Home, 1101 Dodds Ave., 622-9995.

Joseph Lee Gilmore

Joseph Lee Gilmore, aka Bubba, 64, 514 E Fairview Ave, Johnson City TN, went to be with the Lord on Friday, August 8, 2014 after a lengthy battle with cancer at the Johnson City VA Community Living Center.

Joseph was a native of Kingsport TN, born on September 11, 1949 to the late Edward and Grace Gilmore.  He was preceded in death by sister Lily Ruth Crum, and brothers James Edward and David Gilmore.

Joseph was a member of the Central Baptist Church in Kingsport, and also attended the Friendship Baptist Church in Johnson City, TN.

He was a graduate of Douglass High School, Kingsport, and later attended East Tennessee State University.

Joseph served in the United States Army, and retired from Sears after 20 years of service. Bubba was a member of Elks Lodge #492.   His favorite hobbies included stamp & coin collecting and gardening.

He leaves to mourn his devoted and faithful wife of nearly 40 years, Jeraldine F. Gilmore. Also, daughters Angela Gilmore, Constance (Richie) Carson Young, Pamela (Clinton) Rollins. Sons, Earnest (Ann) Carson, Mose (Christina) White, and Todd Page-Gilmore.

Brothers Nathan (Alma) Blye (Kingsport), Gregory (Ora) Gilmore (GA), Edward (Theresa) Gilmore (Bristol) and sister, Hazel Leverett (Knoxville).

He was a loving Grandfather to Sydney Edwards, Thomas Edwards (Kingsport), Ebony Alexander,(FL), Akeelan Young (Nashville) Michael Young, Alan B Alexander (FL) Jordan Carson, Duran Ferguson, Duran Carson, Brittany Carson, Jasmine Carson, Skylar, Allana, Ayden, & Landyn White, Alex Anderson, and AJ Anderson.

Great Grandfather to Zailes Alexander, Kalyna Young, Zarayah Alexander, Caislyn Love, Antonio Alexander, Host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends Special thanks to caregivers, niece, Diana Brice, Lois Hairston, and Emma Lou White.

A special thanks to the CLC staff at Veterans Affairs.

Funeral Services will be held at 7:00pm on Wednesday August 13, 2014 at the Friendship Baptist Church, 522 W. Main St Johnson City, TN, with Dr. C.H Charlton officiating. The family will receive friends from 6-7:00 PM, prior to the funeral service at the church.

Full Military Honors and Graveside Services will be held at 10:45 AM on Thursday at the VA National Cemetery, Johnson City, TN.

Marc Tierre Lee Woodbury

KINGSPORT — Marc Tierre Lee Woodbury, 23, departed this life at 10:30 p.m. on July 28, 2014 at Wellmont Holston Valley Hospital and Medical Center.

Marc was born in White Plains, N.Y. on March 11, 1991 to Ms. Erika Woodbury of Kingsport, Tenn. and Nathaniel Terry of Bronx, N.Y. Marc has spent the last five years in the city of Kingsport. He was a graduate of Morristown West High School in Morristown, Tenn.

Marc was preceded in death by his son, Emery Tate Durkee; paternal grandfather, James A. Woodbury; and paternal great-grandmother, Ms. Annie B. Cohen.

Marc is survived by his parents; two sons, Z'Ryan Hughes and Ledger Kede Parsons Woodbury; one sister, Ashleigh Woodbury Kingsport; six brothers, Raquon Woodbury, Darius Woodbury, and Jarek Bridges, all of Kingsport, DiJon Woodbury, White Plains, N.Y. Mykel Davis, Portchester, N.Y., Jaylen Bridges, New Rochelle, N.Y.; maternal grandparents, Ms. Patricia Winton and Douglass Williams, Kingsport; aunt, Ms. Tykia Shaw, Johnson City, Tenn.; uncle Kai Winton, Kingsport, Tenn.

Marc was a rising MMA kickboxer. On June 5, he won the title belt of his weight class. Marc loved and respected everyone he knew and was loved in return.

A memorial service will be conducted Saturday, Aug. 9, 2014.
