Claudia Hardy Maxwell

KINGSPORT — Claudia Yvonne Hardy Maxwell, 61, of Greensboro, N.C., went to be home with her Lord on Wednesday (June 30, 2010) at Regional Cancer Center in Greensboro, N.C.

She was born in Sullivan County (Kingsport) and moved to North Carolina in 1989. She was a graduate of Douglass High School in 1961 and then attended ETSU. She retired from the State of North Carolina, Child Advocate of Guardian ad Litem.
She was a member of Recovery All Christian Temple in Winston-Salem, N.C.
She was preceded in death by her father, Luther L. Hardy; brother-in-law and sister, John and Thelma Jean Robinson; and brother, Leroy Hardy.
Survivors include her daughter, Alyria Maxwell and partner, Bruce France, of Greensboro, N.C.; four sons, Larry Maxwell Jr. and wife, Dina, of Kingsport, Courtney Webster of Kingsport, Milton Morgan of Nashville, and Jay Dennis of Kingsport; seven grandchildren, Skyy Dugger, Quintesa Snapp, Zachary Maxwell, Donte Maxwell, Samantha Bray, Natasha Newberry and Casey Newberry; five greatgrandchildren and five great-greatgrandchildren; her mother, Mildred E. Swafford Hardy of Kingsport; two brothers, John Hardy and wife, Betty, and Robert Hardy, all of Kingsport; best friend and honorary sister, Pastor Cora Hamilton; along with several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday at Central Baptist Church, 301 Carver St., Kingsport. Funeral services will follow in the church at 11 a.m. with Pastor Eunice A. Woods officiating.
Music will be provided by the Recovery All Christian Temple Choir.
