Cynthia S. Brice-Fugate and Howard Fugate

ROGERSVILLE — Cynthia S. Brice-Fugate, born Dec. 2, 1958, to the late Mary Dorothy Ewing and the late Robert Hoard Sr., departed this life with her husband of 27 years, Howard L. Fugate, Monday (Aug. 2, 2010).

Cynthia grew up in the Petersburg community and was a member of Petersburg A.M.E. Zion Church where she took pride in participating in whatever was asked of her. She loved cooking and reading. Most days you could find her working in her plants which she loved.
She was also preceded in death by her grandparents, Leola and Walter Brice; sister, Karen Brice; and uncles, William Lawrence Brice and Donnie Lynn Brice Sr. Her dogs, Sir James, Tiberius, and Tilley, perished with her and Howard. Her departure is a great loss to her entire family and her church family.
She leaves to cherish her memory her loving daughters, Pascha N. Williams (Reggie), of Carrollton, Ga., and Shandra L. Fanney (Artie), of Morristown. She also leaves to cherish her memory her greatest joys, her five grandchildren, Autumn, Reggie II, Anthony, Bria, and Adrianna; sisters, Stella Darlene and Melissa Diane Ewing, Marcella Thompson, Nettie B. Snapp and Kaye Henderson; brothers, James Leroy and Herbert Eugene Ewing, Spencer, Robert Jr. and Gary W. Hoard; aunts, Shirley Looney and Stella Pyles; uncles, Walter Edward, James Lee and Charles Brice; very special second parents, Fred Jr. and Betty Fugate; and a host of cousins and friends. Acknowledging special friends and “children,” Wendy Bullington, Quenten Martin, Jessica Motley, Ron and Mylinda Kerr.
The family will also receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Colboch-Price Funeral Home. The family will receive friends anytime at her daughter’s home, 2775 Helton Gaby Road, Morristown, and her aunt, Stella Pyles, 500 Watterson St., Rogersville.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday in the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Earnest Easterly and Elder James Allen officiating and special speaker, Evangelist Beady Fugate.
Interment will follow in the Brice Family Cemetery.

ROGERSVILLE — Howard Lee Fugate, born March 5, 1958, to Fred Fugate Jr, and Betty E. Watterson Fugate, departed this life with his wife of 27 years, Cynthia S. Brice Fugate, Monday (Aug. 2, 2010).

He attended schools on military bases in Florida, Ohio, and Germany, completing his education in Surgoinsville. Howard was employed at DTR in Midway, Tenn.
Howard was preceded in death by his grandparents, Fred Sr. and Louise Fugate and Clinton and Fannie Watterson.
In addition to his parents, Howard leaves to cherish his memory his stepchildren, Pascha N. Williams (Reggie), of Carrollton, Ga., and Shandra L. Fanney (Artie), of Morristown; brothers, Fred Fugate III (Beady), of Montgomery, Ala., Anthony Fugate, of Kingsport and Steven Fugate (Anna Marie), of Charlotte, N.C.; five grandchildren, Autumn, Reggie II, Anthony, Bria and Adrianna; a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. His departure is a great loss to his entire family.
