Born in Chicago, Ill., where she resided most of her life, Dream just recently moved to Kingsport from Lake Mills, Iowa. She was a junior at Dobyns-Bennett High School and while in Lake Mills, she at- tended Lake Mills High School. Dream was active in thespian arts and was awarded State Champion in Literary Reading. She was also the Regional President of FFCLA. While in Lake Mills, Dream worked as a waitress at The Grand Café. She never met a stranger and had such a vibrant personality.
Survivors include her mother, Dr. Yemaya Gilliam, and husband, Anthony, of Kingsport; father, Courtney Higgins of Chicago, Ill.; sister, Destiny Gilliam of Kingsport; brother, Desmond Gilliam of Kingsport; maternal grandparents, Melody and Frederick Banks of Harvey, Ill.; paternal grandparents, Patricia Powell of Chicago, Ill., and William Higgins of Indianapolis, Ind.; maternal great-grandmother, Geneva Powers of Colbert, Ga.; great-aunt, Beverly Higgins of Chicago, Ill.; several aunts, uncles and cousins.
The family will receive friends from 2 to 3 p.m. on Saturday at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home, Fall Branch. The service will begin at 3 p.m. with Pastor Jim Manis officiating.
