Ms. Mary Jane Carnes , 67, Departed this life on Tuesday, January 3, 2012 at Wellmont Holston Valley Medical Center in Kingsport after an extended illness.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Mr. James & Mrs. Mattie Carnes; brothers, Elijah, James Jr., Robert, Leon, Billy, & Charles; sister, Jeanette Kyle.
Ms. Carnes was a graduate of Douglass High School in Kingsport, Class of '62.
She is survived by her son, Michael; grandson, Shyhiem (who was the love of her life); sister, Dorothy Cunningham, Toledo, Ohio; aunt, Rebecca Hale, Kingsport and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Funeral Services for Mrs. Mary Jane Carnes will be conducted from The Central Baptist Church on Saturday, January 7, 2012 at 12 Noon. with Pastor Ricardo F. Dorcean, officiating. Interment will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery.
