Carolyn “Bootsy” Ruth Maxwell


KINGSPORT — Mrs. Carolyn Ruth Maxwell died Friday, (Sept. 27, 2013) at Wellmont Holston Valley Hospital and Medical Center.

She was born in Greeneville, Tenn on Aug. 21, 1946.  Carolyn and her husband Larry Maxwell both worked at Mead Paper, where Larry is still employed and resides in Kingsport, Tenn.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Cephus Smith and Angel Crum; brother Bobby Smith; and brother-in-law, Johnny Swagerty.

She leaves behind her loving and supportive husband Larry Maxwell; daughter, Mrs. Angela Morris and her husband James Morris of Canton, Miss., daughter Ms. Crystal Bell of Kingsport; a stepson, Larry Maxwell and his wife Mrs. Dina Maxwell; and stepdaughter, Ms. Alyria Maxwell of Greensboro, N.C.; sister, Pastor Geraldine Swagerty; her grandchildren are Ms. Kaquana Bell, Ms. Mekos Bell, Amos Bell, Anthony Williams, Christopher Bell and his wife Ms. Alyshia Bell, Donta Maxwell, Ms. Shekinah Smith and Myles Morris; special friend, Mrs.Doris Forby; as well as a host of nieces and nephews.

Carolyn was a loving kind person whom everyone fell in love with after they met her. She brought love, happiness and joy to her family. Her goal was to introduce Jesus Christ to every one she met, even if she had to introduce them to Jesus by showing His love through her. She showed her devotion to her love for Jesus Christ by faithfully being the President of Full Gospel Mission #1, a teacher of the Word of God, a pianist and a prayer warrior.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 7 p.m. Monday at Full Gospel Mission, Kingsport, Tenn. Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Full Gospel Mission. Burial will follow at East Lawn Cemetery.
