MR. HORACE VENTON CURRY, SR.- Age 79, Of Chattanooga (formerly of Kingsport), Tennessee passed away Monday, August 17, 2015. He was born July 6, 1936 in Glasgow, Kentucky, a graduate of Kentucky School of Mortuary Science, and employed by Franklin Strickland and Hardwick and Sons Funeral Homes, Chattanooga.
He was a member of the Tennessee Funeral Director’s Mortician Association and other local associations.
His parents, Green Venton and Susie Burberich Curry, preceded him in death.
He is survived by his children, daughters, Gwen (Tyrone) Evans and Coletta (Clarence) Holcomb; son, Horace Venton (Kimberly) Curry, Jr.; brother, A. Frazier (Carla) Curry; four grandsons, two great grandchildren; one niece; one great nephew; a host of other relatives and friends.
Homegoing Service will be held Friday, August 21, 2015 at 7:00 P.M. at Union Hill Baptist Church with Pastor Samuel Jackson, Rev. Jimmy Ingram, Eulogist, and other ministers officiating.
His remains will lie in state at the church from 5:00 P.M. until the funeral hour. Interment, Highland Cemetery.
