Roy Lee Dennis Sr., age 78, of Rogersville, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, July 1, 2016, after a brief illness.
He was a devoted and active member of the Hasson St. Christian Church and all Brothers in Christ. He was a retiree of Holliston Mills.
He was a great son, husband, father, grandfather, uncle, mentor, and friend to many. He was a good and faithful servant who was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need.
He was preceded in death by parents, William and Ida Mae Kyle Dennis; loving wife of 40 years, Mary Cynthia Dennis; brothers, William and Albert Dennis; and a special friend, Imogene Fugate.
He is survived by daughter, Jackie (Roy) Charles of Rogersville, TN; sons, Bradford (Laura) Dennis of San Bernardino, CA and Roy (Delphine) Dennis, Jr. of Winston-Salem, NC; grandchildren, Jacque’ (Shomari) White, Tara (Chris) Watterson, Stacy Charles, Joshua Dennis, Justin Dennis, Bria Dennis and Roy Lee Dennis III; great-grandchildren, Sabry Watterson, Shomari White Jr., Jayden White, Max White, and Chris Watterson III; sisters, Betty Jean Fain, Rogersville and Nancy Clark, Fresno, CA; a host of nieces, nephews, and “adopted” sons.
The family will receive friends from 12–1 pm on Saturday July 9th at Christian-Sells Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow at 1:00 pm. Interment will follow at Mitchell Crest Cemetery. Repass will be at Hasson St. Christian Church. Online condolences may be made at www.christiansells.com.
