BRISTOL — Mr. Will Edward “Eddie” Worthington, departed this life on Wednesday (Aug. 12, 2009) at his home.
“Eddie was born Sept. 19, 1938, to Will Edward and Edith Swafford Worthington in Pikeville, Tennessee.
He graduated from Pikeville High School class of 1957. He retired from Bristol Metals after 15 years of service.
He was preceded in death by his parent and oldest brother James Worthington.
Survivors include his loving wife, Mrs. Frances Coffey Worthington of Bristol; three sons, Will Worthington, III, Corkey Worthington, Valrico, Fla. and Ray Tallas Pikeville, Ky.; three stepchildren, Darren, Tammy and Danita; seven grandchildren; two brothers, Freddie (Baragene) Worthington and Richard (Diane) Worthington; special cousins, James William (Olivia) Swafford, Kingsport, Janette Miller of Greenville and a host of aunts, uncles and cousins.
Funeral services for Mr. Worthington will be conducted at John Wesley United Methodist Church on Saturday at 2 p.m. with Pastor Rev. Donald Swift officiating. The family will receive friends from 1 p.m. till the hour of service.
The interment will follow at Forrest Hill Memory Gardens.
