Betty D. Rogers

ROGERSVILLE — Betty D. Rogers, 63, of Rogersville, fell asleep awaiting for the Lord’s return on Wednesday (Nov. 6. 2013) at her residence.


She was a member of Hasson Street Christian Church. She was retired from the Hawkins County School System as a head start teacher.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Betty Lou Hale.

She is survived by her husband, Archie Rogers, Jr.; sisters, Cheryl (Rommie) Argo and Dorothy (Harvey) Wilmer of Kingsport, Della (Jerry) Tate of Talbott, Doretha Hale of Knoxville, Samantha Maxwell of Rogersville; brothers, Jimmy Kyle and Jeff Hale of Rogersville; sisters-in-law, Brenda, Edna, and Georgia Rogers of Rogersville, Claudia Horton and Diana Rogers of Atlanta, and Hazel (Michael) Nordman of Wisconsin; brother-in-law, Fred (Charlotte) Rogers of Morristown; aunt, Sarah Ann Ford of Kingsport; special nephews, Cory and Morgan Maxwell; and a host of special friends and relatives.

A celebration of life service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at Christian-Sells Funeral Home with Rev. Roy Charles officiating.

The family will receive friends from noon to 1 p.m. prior to services.

Burial will follow in Mitchell Crest Cemetery.
