Billy Duwayne Hill

KINGSPORT — Mr. Billy Duwayne Hill, 43, departed this life suddenly on Wednesday (May 14, 2014) at Wellmont Holston Valley Medical Center after a brief illness.

Mr. Hill was born in Perry County, Ky. He was a graduate of M.C. Napier High School. He came to Kingsport in 1991. He was employed by Prime Sirloin for several year as a cook as well as Texas Steak House, and Longhorn Steak House. Billy was a loving man, and he met no stranger. He was a people lover; he had many friends, and was a special man who was loved by many.

He was preceded in death by his grandfather, George Hill; grandmother, Mrs. Virginia A. Hill; nine uncles and eight aunts.

He leaves many to mourn including his parents, Ms. Virginia and Rev. Billy Hill; two sons, Isaiah Billy Hill and Avery D. Hill, II; one daughter, Ms. Callie Sonpon and husband Ernie; two grandchildren; wife, Mrs. April D. Hill; one sister, Ms. Lois E Beatty; three brothers, Minister Darryl Beatty and wife Pamela, Eugene Beatty and Ronnie Hill; six aunts and six uncles, Revella and Pete Combs of Hazard, Ky., Sonia and Wade Hill of Hazard, Kay and Eugene Hill of Hazard, Minister Gracie Sanford and Darcus Wynn, Ronnie and Donnasil, Elder Calvin Beatty and Robert Beatty, Jerry Beatty, Janivie and Joe Carter. He had several nieces and nephews; a host of cousins; and two best friends, Fredrick Lovelace and Katrina Hill.

Funeral services for Mr. Hill will be on Tuesday at 1p.m. at Central Baptist Church with Elder Lester Turner and Pastor Barron Duffy officiating.

The family will receive friends from noon until the hour of service.

Interment will follow at Holston View Cemetery.
