ELIZABETHTON — Ellaware G. Booher, 78, formerly of 910 Beech St., Elizabethton, went home to be with her Lord Wednesday (Aug. 6, 2008) from Ivy Hall Nursing Home.
She was a Carter County native, born to the late Tillie Forney Avery. Mrs. Booher attended Full Gospel Mission and everyone loved her.
In addition to her mother, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Fred James Maxwell; and second husband, Henry Booher.
Survivors include two sons and daughters-inlaw, Luther Lee and Patty Maxwell, Johnson City, Larry James and Carolyn Maxwell, Kingsport; three daughters and two sons-in-law, Jeanette Gorman, Kingsport, Janie and Bill Bowers, Janice and Harvey Simmons, all of Elizabethton; 22 grandchildren and six greatgrandchildren; three brothers and sisters-in-law, Nick and Jackie Avery, Greeneville, Theodore and Ann Forney, Lansing, Mich., James and Sandy Avery, Atlanta, Ga.; and one sister and brotherin-law, Tillie C. and Nathaniel Watson, Elizabethton; several nieces and nephews also survive.
The family will receive friends from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday prior to the service in the chapel of Tetrick Funeral Home, Elizabethton. Friends may also call at the residence of her daughter (902 Beech St., Elizabethton) at anytime.
Services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday in the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Jared Wood and the Rev. Geraldine Swagerty officiating.
Music will be under the direction of the St. Paul United Methodist Church Choir. Interment will follow in Avery Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be selected from family and friends.
