Jerry
William McConnell age 65, Johnson City TN., went home to be with the lord on
December 28, 2015.
He was the son of the late James and Carolyn McConnell, Grandson of the late Alvir and Hattie McConnell, and Virgil and Nina Perkins. He attended Douglas Elementary, Langston High School and Graduated from Science Hill High School and developed life long friendships there with Fred “Buddy” Scott, Mike Bristol, and Sonny Widner. He graduated from ETSU with a degree in Liberal Studies.
He had a close relationship with God, loved reading his Bible and attending Friendship Baptist Church. He was employed at Nuclear Fuel Services for many years and worked at the VA Mountain Home until 2011 when he retired due to illness.

He was a Vietnam veteran receiving the Bronze star and
Medal of Valor.
Left to mourn his loss is his only child Marque McConnell
Diamondcrest(Rachel), 8 Grandchildren, Carolyn, Jamese, Marquena, Marque Jr.,
Caris, James, Britton, and Braislinn, all of Johnson City. He also leaves
behind an Uncle Terry Perkins(Noelle), of Covington GA. Cousins David Johnson,
of Knoxville, TN., Rose Tate and Jane Brown both of California, and a host of
cousins in several areas.
The family would like to extend a special thank you
to the nurses and doctors a MSHA in the ICU and 5500. In lieu of flowers, the
family requests donations to be made to Good Samaritan Ministries.
