Eula V. Carpenter Harris, 68, of Kingsport, went home to be with the Lord Thursday morning, December 2, 2010, at Wellmont Holston Valley Medical Center, Kingsport after a long illness.
She was born in Batesvile, Mississipppi, was a former resident of Memphis and had lived in Kingsport for the past ten years. Mrs. Harris was a member of the Great Comunion Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Needon Harris; her parents, Olen T. and Sarah Austin Carpenter; two sisters, Sarah Smith, Mary Carpenter; six brothers, Chester Carpenter, James Carpenter, Thomas Carpenter, David Carpenter, Aubrey Carpenter and Jimmy Carpenter and daugher-in-law, Erma Jean Hill.
Survivors include her daughters, Alicia Hill and Cassandra Hill of the home; four sons, Needon Harris of Memphis, Derrick Hill of Nashville, Darren Hill and Jeffrey Hill both of the home; six grandchildren, Corderious Hill, Sylicia Bryson, Daylon Bryson, Destiny Hill, Deriona HIll and Darren Hill, Jr.; four brothers, William Carpenter of Kingsport, Clifton Carpenter and wife, Leslie of Church Hill, James Carpenter of Anchorage, Alaska and Larry D. Carpenter of Kingsport along with several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
Due to inclement weather a committal service will be held at 1 pm on Tuesday, December 7, 2010 at Carter-Trent Funeral Home, 520 Watauga Street with Pastor Matthew Thomas, officiating.
